Originally based on HMS President (1918) we had to up anchor due to the potential development of the "Garden Bridge' and the Thames Water Super Drain development. Though we remain fleet of foot working outside of the normal corporate norm. We seek to align our interests with our partners, being project lead but remain based in London. 
 
The company was originally founded by Simon Grier-Jones on the basis of a more flexible and adaptive development entity than the corporate companies he had spent the last 20 plus years working for. His profile can be viewed on Linkedin via the contact button below.

It's our ability to look and think laterally outside of the norm that enables us to achieve. LGD actively look at Joint Venture, Profit Share or Fee based work with a range of partners, whether a project requires strategic foresight, project or development management, or financial backing, we create teams to promote and deliver.

Deal Origination, Site Acquisition, Development Management & Exit.

LGD's approach starts with deal origination but its the development management that moves the scheme forward to profit.  Development Management combines a range of skills and services specifically designed to meet the objectives, from the concept and financial viability through to delivery of completed projects.
 
The experience of our development team covers many sectors:
 
  • Residential Private and affordable
  • Retirement C2 & C3
  • Healthcare
  • Private Rented Sector (PRS)
  • Retail & leisure schemes
  • Industrial developments
  • Regeneration schemes of mixed use urban and brownfield sites.

Key activities we manage are:
 
  • Land identification, acquisition and promotion.
  • Strategic masterplanning on major developments, phased over a number of years
  • Feasibility studies and Viability Appraisals on a site-by-site basis
  • Appointment of individual design and costs consultants including necessary specialists
  • Management of design and cost process to procure viable investigations for design and planning purposes
  • Pre-application planning process, submissions, negotiations and obtaining both outline and detailed planning consents
  • Procurement of construction partners and or disposal agents.

Ideally we work from origination to disposal though, our skills are often applied on an individual commission basis, given our strong agency and consultancy background. Currently we are involved in / or recently completed:

  • A site acquisition for 25 homes
  • A major London Compulsory Purchase Scheme
  • A Landlord and Tenant dispute
  • A Waste Disposal site extension.

Projects

We are hard at work being creative. Together with our key partners, land owner's, local authorities, communities, architects, planners and funders.  We look to find the angles the inspiration and vision to improve.  Guiding our partners through the increasingly complex planning and development process.
